The Latest

a space for a very relevant quote by Oscar Wilde:

The first duty in life is to assume a pose. What the second is, no one has discovered.”

Rebalance / Renew / Rebirth
Late last summer, I indulged in the Hulu miniseries Nine Perfect Strangers starring my #1 girl Nicole Kidman as Masha, the mysterious and ethereal founder of health and wellness resort, Tranquillum House. It took only one episode to cue endless dreams of walking barefoot on freshly-cut grass under open sky and warm sun, hair flowing, mind clear. If Grace Fraser was my fall-winter refined-and-successful-city-woman ideal, then Masha is my summer goddess inspo - clad in flowing whites, all glassy, clear skin and athletic limbs, fueled by Mother Earth.

As I swayed through the winter holidays, late nights, comfort foods, and indulgences these last few months, I suppressed the underlying current of my Masha-esque tendencies - all of which surfaced on the first truly warm day of this year about a week ago. Since then, my cravings for rich pastries, cappuccinos, and cheesy pasta have simmered down, my taste buds leaning towards the bittersweet of iced matcha lattes, juicy citrus and mango in salads, and spaghetti nicoise at Lafayette over my go-to tagliatelle alla bolognese at Morandi. I also feel more electric, ready to jump out of bed at the crack of dawn, more willing to up my gym hours, and overall, present. I have already packed away most of my cozy cashmere sweaters in favor of breezy cotton and linens, my wardrobe complete with all the Lunya staples, and have started recalibrating my calendar to make way for more frequent massages, facials, and rooftop nights.

Of course, the longing for summer goes beyond reimagining the smaller changes to daily activities and habits - I can already hear waves curling to shore over dinner on the beach at Marram Montauk, complete with a crackling fire pit in the distance. In my wildest dreams, I am lounging poolside at Cirencester Estate or making the rounds on the terrace of Villa Della Rocca all day, every day. Lavish trips and experiences aside, my personal theme of this upcoming season is very Tranquillum-esque (or for those living in the real world, pretty damn Goop-y) - mornings starting with Iskilde served in crystal glasses, yoga and pilates, berry smoothies, bowls of greens and wild-caught salmon, journaling, and fostering the mind-body connection. As usual, I have compiled a “current” moodboard here for your amusement and our collective renewal.
